  3.  Introduction to Photoshop and Alternatives

  4. Introduction to Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Tools via Digital Software

  5. How to Draw Digitally and Develop Familiarity with Digital Tablets and Tool

  6.  Easy to Follow Assignments to Build Confidence and Hand-Eye Coordination

  7. How to Utilize Tools Independently and in Combination of One Another

  8. Introduction to Perspective and Structural Drawing

  9. Learn About Drawing in 3D Spaces and Various Styles of Line Art

  10.  Introduction to Rendering and Digital Painting

  11. Exploration of Tools to Aid in Understanding Light and Shadow

  12.  Presenting Their Work and Communicating Their Process and Challenges

What to Expect in Week 1:
Basic Photoshop and Digital Art Fundamentals

 

✔ An introduction to digital art and how it is used
✔ A brief history of digital media software, and how Photoshop compares to it 

✔ An introduction to Photoshop and how it is used in the industry
✔ A look at the production pipeline for entertainment and how digital media is used in multiple facets
✔ Being introduced to Photoshop and practicing the basic tools offered 
✔ Homework focused on recreating simple images and doodles through Photoshop’s basic tools

What to Expect in Week 2:
Intermediate Photoshop and Perspective

 

✔ One on one presentations of how each individual student has completed the homework

✔ Presentations of how each individual student has completed the homework 

✔ Introduction of intermediate tools and perspective tools
✔ Exploration of all tools learned, combining various tool sets
✔ Introduction of perspective
✔ How to achieve various line art styles using the tools learned
✔ Homework focuses on creating line art of geometric shapes and characters


 

What to Expect in Week 3:

 Advanced Photoshop and Rendering


✔ Presentations of how each individual student has completed the homework 
✔ Introduction of advanced tools and rendering tools

✔ Lessons on various rendering styles and planar analysis

✔ Introduction to rendering tools
✔ Tonal rendering exercises focusing on light, shadow, and form using a full range of values
✔ Homework includes taking geometric shapes and characters and rendering them in own styles
 

 

What to Expect in Week 4:

Photoshop Filters, Smart Objects, Image Manipulation and Digital Workspace

 

✔ Introduction to filters, and how to alter image colors and tonal values

✔ Introduction to smart objects, and how to create vector based drawings

✔ Introduction to smart layers, liquify and image manipulation

✔ Lessons on how to create your own digital workspace via Photoshop

✔ Shown how to take your own digital images, and manipulate them as desired
